You first saw her on a poster in the metro
Under what was supposed to be the coolest graffiti
You guessed her face and the name of her band
But not what was happening when you got her cd

Then she came to give a gig in your town
You convinced your friends that’d be the best show ever
You felt the thrill running throughout the crowd
Faces craving a piece of attention from her

Two green shoes bought to a nice old french lady
Showed up out of the blue on the dusty stage
The spotlights flashed, the guitars started playing
As she were stamping her feet in pleasure and rage

As her voice faded away
And the music ended
A new song came in the air
and you knew it was your turn

You tried to write some songs on your own
Picturing her reading your lines over your shoulder
As you were sticking out your tongue in concentration
You learnt word after word how not to worship her

Later on a stool, a rusty mic in your face
You wondered if the drunk crowd would ever shut up
Your legs were shaking and your heart hammering your chest
You figured out the drunk crowd would never shut up

Then you saw her smile on a poster in the street
As you were putting on a good show on that dusty stage
you closed your eyes ignoring people talking
As you were stamping your feet with pleasure and rage

As her voice faded away
